Musings
14 July 2008

In final countdown for the Granary show.

Herself is out doing errands, Gully snores at my side here in the office, and the framing is almost finished. I'm catching my breath which gives me a minute to catch you up.

Since the website launch in April the energy around here has gone into full tilt overdrive. Hard working days of painting, framing and website building...followed by fine summer evenings of gardening make for late night suppers and pre-dawn walks with the pup.

A visit this week from our dear friend Kate was a welcome break in that routine.

They were posing in front of the zinnia bed because Kate is a master gardener... but they were too tall... so here are the flowers in their glory this summer...click photo of zinnias below for link to short very amateur movie clip.

Now for some updates...

As some of you have read in the latest Newsletter...(click on green word to left to read), I now am among the bloggers out there in cyberspace. Surprisingly enough I love it. An easy way of doing what I was trying to do here with the painter's musings section. Short journal entries that may or may not be interesting but give a window into the studio activities, pass along information, and give you a chance to offer feedback. I will use that site for regular updates on my work, techniques, what's happening in the studio, what's new on the easel and conversations with fellow artists, patrons and art watchers.

For now, I will continue to use the painter's musings section here as well but not as often. So if you want to be on the cutting edge, so to speak...subscribe to this feed and let me know what ya think. I will be sending blog entries from the Vineyard and the show opening this Sunday so check in there for the latest.

Now, I've got the last of the paintings to package up for their trip north, some major cleaning up, and two lawns to mow...oh wait ! I see Herself has gotten a jumpstart on that last one...

Herself hard at work.

'Til next time... stay cool, drink something frosty, take lots of walks, and be in touch.
